What is Tesamorelin / Ipamorelin?

Tesamorelin and Ipamorelin work together to support the body's natural production of growth hormone, helping improve recovery, body composition, and overall performance.

Growth Hormone Releasing Peptides are a category of peptides designed to stimulate the body’s natural release of growth hormone. These peptides are commonly used in performance, recovery, and anti-aging programs to support recovery, body composition, and overall physical function.

Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH), and Ipamorelin is a selective growth hormone secretagogue; the pairing is thought to encourage the body's own pulsatile growth hormone release rather than replace it. A branded tesamorelin product is FDA-approved for one narrow use, reducing excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy; that is not what Rx2BFIT dispenses, and using tesamorelin for general recovery or body composition sits outside any approved indication. Ipamorelin is not FDA-approved for any use and remains investigational. Both are typically given as a subcutaneous injection, and research into their long-term effects is ongoing.

Peptides are not shortcuts or miracle solutions. They are specialized compounds that work with the body’s natural signaling systems to support specific biological functions.

Rx2BFIT does not dispense a branded or FDA-approved tesamorelin and ipamorelin product, and it does not use a compounding pharmacy. The tesamorelin and ipamorelin used at the practice comes from a U.S.-based supplier whose batches are tested by an independent laboratory for identity and purity, with a certificate of analysis on file, and it is reconstituted in the office under Dr. Patel's supervision. It is not an FDA-approved medication. Dr. Patel reviews that, along with the known risks, the potential side effects, and the limits of the evidence, before anyone starts.

What this may help support

  • Faster recovery after exercise

Recovery is where your body adapts, repairs, and grows stronger. Without adequate recovery, even the best training program can lead to fatigue, stalled progress, and increased risk of injury.

  • Lean muscle preservation

Growth hormone releasing peptides are thought to support lean muscle by encouraging the body's own growth hormone release, which plays a role in protein synthesis and tissue repair.

  • Improved sleep and recovery quality

Performance isn't just about lifting heavier weights or running faster. Recovery, sleep, energy, and metabolic health all play an important role in how your body functions.

  • Fat metabolism and body composition support

The goal is not just aesthetics. It is improving how your body functions and recovers over time.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be an athlete to benefit from these treatments?

No. Many of our patients are active adults who simply want more energy, improved recovery, better sleep, or support maintaining muscle and mobility as they age.

How soon will I notice results?

Results vary depending on the treatment and your individual goals. Some patients notice improvements in energy and recovery within a few weeks, while changes in body composition and performance typically develop over several months.

Are these treatments medically supervised?

Absolutely. Every therapy at Rx2BFIT is prescribed and monitored by Dr. Bhavesh Patel to ensure your treatment is safe, appropriate, and aligned with your health goals.

Do you offer performance or fitness-focused programs?

Yes. Rx2BFIT provides programs designed to improve strength, endurance, recovery, and overall physical performance, not just weight loss.

How do I get started?

Start with an assessment. This allows Dr. Patel to evaluate your health, understand your goals, and build a personalized plan for weight loss, performance, and long-term health.

What monitoring does this peptide need?

Growth hormone releasing peptides raise IGF-1, so Dr. Patel checks an IGF-1 level along with the standard screening labs before you start and repeats it as part of your monitoring labs about every six months. Recent labs from your own doctor can be used if they are within six months.

How often is it injected?

Every peptide has its own schedule. Some are daily, some are daily for a month followed by two weeks off, and some are once every two weeks or once a month. You get the exact schedule for your peptide in writing when Dr. Patel clears you to start, after the consultation and labs.
