What to Expect

In the Artesia office or by video. Dr. Patel takes your history, examines you, and orders screening labs (A1c, lipids, thyroid, metabolic panel), or uses results from your own doctor if they are under six months old.

Within days of the assessment you get written instructions built around your profile: which medication if any, the dose schedule, and the protein, strength training, and vitamin D, B12, and collagen plan that protects muscle while you lose fat.

Follow-up with Dr. Patel himself, in person or by telehealth, with monitoring labs about every six months and dose changes as your response and side effects dictate.

Every patient receives a customized plan based on their health, goals, and response to treatment. No templates. No generic plans. Everything is built around you.

Frequently asked questions

What makes us different from other weight loss programs?

Rx2BFIT takes a physician-guided approach that focuses on the biological side of weight loss, performance, and aging, not just diet and exercise. Every plan is personalized, monitored, and adjusted to produce consistent, sustainable results.

Do I need to be overweight to start a program?

No. GLP-1 therapy is also used for fatty liver disease, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and certain addiction disorders. Most people with prediabetes or high cholesterol already have a fatty liver, which is why Dr. Patel looks at the whole metabolic picture and not only the scale. Some patients do not need medication at all.

Who should not take a GLP-1 medication?

Anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN syndrome, a history of bowel obstruction, or an allergy to the medication. Dr. Patel screens for each of these before prescribing.

What treatments are used for medical weight loss?

Programs may include prescription treatments such as GLP medications, along with structured nutrition and lifestyle support. All treatments are determined during your consultation.

Is everything medically supervised?

Yes. All programs are overseen by Dr. Bhavesh Patel, with ongoing monitoring to ensure safety, effectiveness, and proper adjustments over time.

How quickly will I see results?

Treatment starts within days of the assessment once labs are in. On average patients lose seven to ten pounds a month while the plan is followed. Individual results vary.

Do I need to follow a strict diet or workout plan?

Not a restrictive one, but the plan is not optional either. Dr. Patel asks every patient to raise protein, keep strength training so muscle is not lost, take vitamin D, B12, and collagen, and pay attention to sleep, stress, alcohol, and smoking. Sleep in particular does more for healthy aging than any injection.

How do I get started?

Start with an assessment. This allows Dr. Patel to evaluate your health, understand your goals, and build a personalized plan for weight loss, performance, and long-term health.
